Carbonnay 2023 Grape|CorvinaEnglish Chardonnay, but not as you know it! Juicy and bright with citrus and tropical fruit sitting amongst aromatic blossom notes and briny green olive, all tied up with an underlying smoky, savoury character. A vibrant natural orange wine that offers a totally unique take on this well known grape. Made using 100% Chardonnay, the grapes undergo a 31 day carbonic maceration before going through the basket press and being placed into terracotta amphora

Whole bunches are crushed by foot and left to macerate for a couple of weeks before being pressed into a mixture of old demi-muid barrels and amphora to age for one year

The fruit is picked nice and early to keep it fresh and prevent those OTT baked flavours you might associate with this style

The grapes were harvested together and directly pressed into tank to start fermentation

The Merlot comes from a 2019 of drought

apple and peach with a subtle floral note and a clean

It has the feel of something like an alcohol-free vermouth

a direct-press of Cinsault - a new addition for this vintage

The second outing of this pure-fruited infusion wine

retaining good acidity but still showing the effects of that southern ripeness

with passion fruit

and without topping up the barrel
