Sold (1930) Chiltern type Basil Mohair WhiteBasil is a 20" tall vintage 1930's Chiltern Type Mohair Teddy Bear. He is fully jointed, with all joints working well and all move easily. He has a working push squeaker in his tummy, stitched claws and nose. His cotton pads are all in tact and good condition. He has clear and black glass eyes which would once have been back painted with brown paint which has all worn off now. He has a woodwool filled head, kapok elsewhere. Description Date 1930 Make

Teddy B is a handsome chap with quite distinctive features

His feet are reinforced with card

Replacement pads have been removed

There are a few sparse patches on his mohair but I would say he retains about 90%

It is made from white silk fabric with blue lettering: "Chiltern Hygienic Toys Made in England 2/52/1"  He has been played with but obviously well cared for
